The Christmas Tree Farm

The life cycle of Christmas trees typically spans 7-12 years, depending on the variety and the size. The cycle begins with planting young seedlings in either late Autumn or early Spring, after careful soil preparation. During their life the trees require a large amount of care and attention from base pruning and leader control through to shaping and pest control. This more modern proactive approach to Christmas tree growing ensures that the trees are the best quality possible as well as keeping us very busy throughout the whole year.

By year 7-12, when they reach an average height of 6-7 feet, the trees are ready for harvest. Harvesting starts as late as possible in November, ensuring the trees are fresh for the Christmas season. After cutting the trees are netted and prepared for sale, either wholesale directly from the farm to top quality retailers throughout the region or through our own retail sites. After a block has been cleared, we leave it fallow for a year and then the cycle repeats with new seedlings planted again to ensure sustainable production.
