Our Cut Christmas Trees

Cut trees are the mainstay of Newburgh Christmas Trees and with our attention to detail and innovation throughout the planting, growing and harvesting process we can guarantee you will receive a premium fresh tree. We rigorously select the best seedlings and grow the tree in the most environmentally sustainable way and have great pride in our product.

Nordmann Fir

Originating from the mountains to the south and east of the Black Sea predominantly the Russian Caucasus, the Nordmann Fir has grown significantly in popularity and is now the number one tree in the UK. This is primarily due to its excellent needle retention and uniform shape, with dark green needles that are soft to the touch.

Fraser Fir

Introduced relatively recently to Britain the Fraser Fir is also growing in popularity year by year. The Fraser originates from Canada and North America. Again, it has excellent needle retention with a beautiful citrus Christmassy scent and it tends to be slimmer than the Nordmann Fir. With the combination of its needle retention and incredible aroma it is fast becoming a grower’s favourite.

Norway Spruce

The traditional and archetypal Christmas tree, strong and sturdy with an excellent shape and a classic Christmas smell. The Norway Spruce has small, pointed green needles with a good ability to withstand cold and damp. Not a needle-fast tree like the firs but daily watering and protection from strong heat sources will mitigate the needle drop. Due to its traditional status and incredible scent, the Norway Spruce is seeing a resurgence in popularity.

Our Pot Grown Christmas Trees

All our pot grown Christmas trees have been grown from seedlings in the pot so the whole root ball is still contained within that same pot. It is the ideal tree for those more environmentally-minded who want to bring the same tree in for consecutive Christmases or who are looking for a tree that they can plant in the garden after the Christmas festivities are over.

Nordmann Fir

Originating from the mountains to the south and east of the Black Sea predominantly the Russian Caucasus, the pot-grown Nordman Fir has similarly become the number one pot grown tree in the UK. This is again due to its excellent needle retention and uniform shape which make for a wonderful soft-needled pot grown tree that will look perfect for several successive years.

Serbian Spruce

A newer variety of pot grown Christmas tree the Serbian spruce is fast becoming one of the favourites. Originating (as expected) in Serbia it is a graceful, slender tree that tends to be slightly slimmer than the other spruce. It has soft dark foliage, slightly whitish underneath, in drooping sprays curving up at the tips.

Norway Spruce

The traditional Christmas tree, strong and sturdy with an excellent shape and a classic Christmas scent, it makes for an excellent pot grown choice. Small, sharp green needles with the ability to withstand cold and damp and no worries about needle drop as this is a living tree. With its amazing Christmas smell there is nothing better!

Blue Spruce

The blue spruce is native to the Rocky Mountain states in the US. Its silvery blue needles are prickly to touch and have a strong, fresh, piney smell. Its pyramid shape, blue foliage colour and wonderful smell make this a classic choice for a pot grown Christmas tree. Be sure to order yours early as these are regularly the first to sell out!
